Endless Pursuing

This is about endless pursuing.

I enter a cave. Inside the cave, there are countless routes. I choose a route and continue the journey. It is a long route. I reach the end of the route. But, it is the entrance of the cave. I choose another route. It is a short route. When I reach the end of the route, I am at the entrance of the cave. I try one after another but every route leads back to the entrance of the cave. I am tired of the cave.

I climb a stairway. There are countless steps. I climb one step at a time. Sometimes, I climb two steps at a time and sometimes, three. However, no matter how I climb, the ending is not visible. I keep climbing and climbing. When the realization hits me, I am stuck in the middle of the stairway. I am tired of the stairway.

I sail to the sea using my boat. My mission is to turn the sea into vacant land. In order to empty the sea, I am busy with filling and pouring out my bucket. I am doing my job well. I want to take a break from my repetitive routine. I look at my surroundings and realize that my effort is going nowhere. I become sick of the sea.

I count the stars in the sky. I try to count all of them but there is no ending to it. Stars can be counted only at night when they are visible. Every night, I have to restart counting from the beginning. Every day, I am trapped in the loop of restarting from the beginning. I become sick of the stars.

I am somewhere in infinity.
